Best explored on foot, the old town is divided into four districts! While strolling through alleyways, don’t be surprised if you stumble across historical buildings with Venetian influence. Stop If you need a breather, enjoy your meal at a café or restaurant in Splantzia District; many of these cafes here have covered patios overlooking the Church of St. Nicolas, one of Chania's oldest attractions

Marvel at this Venetian fortification of Firka Castle, which is now the maritime museum of Crete. This was built to protect the entrance of the Venetian harbour. Climb the castle and be rewarded with a panoramic view of the Mediterranean, or amble through the different galleries of the museum, which display a wide range of nautical artefacts, paintings and photographs.
