Did you order some sunshine? If yes, then get down to the pristine Beach of Varadero that spans 12 Miles along the sleek peninsula de Hicacos. This blonde bombshell is definitely one of the best beaches in the whole of the Caribbean. Whether it's the flour-like soft sand, the palms that rustle when the wind blows, or the seductive blue sea that teases the shoreline, it's simply gorgeous! Stay in one of the luxury resorts that overlooks this beauty, or just spend some time partaking in all the fantastic water sports available, including snorkelling, kayaking and sailing!
Nature's Marvel
Go on the path that takes you to the Saturno Caves and you will be rewarded with a complex cave system. This hauntingly fascinating cenote offers a respite from the sun-baked beach. A swim in the Pool’s azure hued freshwater or dive off a crystallised column while admiring the impressive rock formations ; but make sure to click away at the stalactites that drips from roof of the caves or the stalactites that rise from the water’s depths to document this memorable experience!
Shopaholic's Paradise !
A shopper's paradise! Head downtown to buy everything from leather goods to wide-brimmed woven hats, paintings, wood carvings and jewellery. What makes these attractive is that they are handmade, and if you want to personalise it, make sure to tell them to add engraving! For a more fun-filled experience, ride on one of the horse-drawn carriages that will take you on a tour. Ask them to drop you off at one of the many restaurants that line up in the neighbourhood for a delicious meal after a long and tiring day of shopping.
Tranquil Getaway Eco-Style !
Ready to take up a challenge? Hike to Varadero Ecological Park through the narrow trails of rocky ground. We recommend wearing sturdy shoes and applying insect repellent. This protected natural reserve is a must see because of the variety of plant species and the white sand beach! Make sure you visit the two limestone caves here, the Cueva de Ambrosio and Cueva de Musulmanes; they contain rock paintings and aboriginal fossils!
A Garden Escape
Want to escape to a peaceful oasis? We have an ideal place for you! Head to Parque Josone and meander through the infinite paths flecked with flowers and stumble upon gorgeous fountains gurgling water, lean against the ornate bridges and watch the ducks bob contentedly around the lake. There are various activities to indulge in, whether it's paddling or gliding around the lake on a rowboat or just relaxing under the shade of the palm tree, the choice is yours! To wind up your day, make your way to the former main residence on the grounds, which has been converted into a fully functioning restaurant, to feast over a Cuban meal!
