Things To Do
Roam, Wander And Explore

If you want to get a feel for what Split is like, a stroll through the old town is a must! Begin your exploration of Split at Pjaca square, where the city's historic town hall stands guard over the gleaming marble tiles and outdoor cafes below. Make sure you wander through the square and admire the stunning examples of Venetian- and Renaissance-era architecture.

Unlocking The Secrets Of The Past...

For who are curious about the city’s history, head to Split City museum, which is located centrally and has a fantastic collection of paintings and weaponry. What is even more striking is the structure, which is a 15th-century Gothic-style building. After admiring the exterior façade, walk inside to gaze at the photographs, maps and other documents that shed light on the history of the city’s rich heritage.

Nature's Playground

Get away from the hustle bustle of the city, by exploring some of Split's lesser-known attractions. The Jewish cemetery on the hill's eastern side of Marjan is particularly notable. There have been no graves since 1945, although many of the tombstones are still readable, dating back to the 1700s. On the hill, marvel over the two churches: St. Nicholas from the 1200s and St. Jerome from the 1400s, both with renaissance altarpieces carved by the Venetian Andrea Alessi.

Symphony Of Melodies

Don your best clothes and head down to the opera at the National Theatre! Catch a show or just admire the architecture! While you are here, it is important to understand how this building played a crucial role in popularising the Croatian language and culture prior to their independence! After the show, make sure to have a bite at one of the restaurants nearby for a wholesome experience.
