Turkish lira. with the banknotes (TL) worth 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 liras available in circulation.

Currency can be changed at currency exchange offices, banks, as well as at the post office. In the resort areas both Visa and Mastercard cards and euro in cash are accepted for payment.

When exchanging money, please note that currency exchange offices may charge a commission for each transaction. There should be an announcement about this.

Banks are open from 8.30 to 17.00 (lunch breaks from 12.00 to 13.30), except Saturday and Sunday.

This coastal gem is truly a paradise, with its powdery sands and serene azure seas and is ideal for families because of the calm waves, perfect for windsurfing, kayaking, paddleboarding and leisurely swims. When feeling peckish you've got to try gözleme, a beach delicacy offered by local vendors while lounging under an umbrella, it’s a traditional Turkish savoury pastry made with thin dough filled with various ingredients such as cheese, spinach, or minced meat.

If you're looking for some serious water fun in Ortakent, you've got to check out Dedeman Aqua Park. It's the go-to spot for families and thrill-seekers alike. They've got everything from crazy water slides to relaxing lazy rivers and splash pools. Get your heart racing as you zip down those towering slides, or just chill out in the sun-soaked pools. And don't worry about the little ones—they've got their own areas with pint-sized slides and fun play zones. Check out the ancient windmills for some killer views of the Aegean Sea—they're totally Instagram-worthy. And if you're feeling adventurous, why not give windsurfing or kayaking a shot? After all that excitement, refuel with some fresh seafood. You've got to try the local specialty, grilled octopus. It's tender, charred, and served with a squeeze of lemon and a drizzle of olive oil—it's absolutely delicious! You can find it at many of the seafood eateries right by the shore, while you're at it, why not pair it with some crispy calamari or a fresh seafood salad?
