Things To Do
Go On A Castle Adventure

Castello Aragonese, the ultimate fairytale castle, is right in the middle of this charming little island. Here's a fun fact: there's an ancient stone bridge that connects it to the main island, dating all the way back to Roman times! Once you're inside, it's like wandering through a medieval maze. There are secret tunnels, hidden gardens, and even a chapel straight out of history books. The cool part about this castle is that there are thermal baths where you can chill. It's like a spa day fit for royalty! For epic views of the sea and nearby islands climb up to the tallest tower and snap away; it’s quite instagrammy! Feeling brave? Join a ghost tour after dark and explore the castle's spooky side! And don't get us started on the food. Dive into local delicacies at the castle's cosy cafes and restaurants. Fresh seafood, classic Italian dishes—you name it, they've got it.

Beach Out

Get ready to kick off your sandals and dive headfirst into the ultimate beach-hopping extravaganza!  Swing by Maronti Beach for soft, powdery sand squishing between your toes and gentle waves inviting you for a dip in the sparkling, crystal-clear waters. Fun fact: the sand here is black, courtesy of ancient volcanic action, adding a cool contrast to the blue sea! Then, head over to Citara Beach, where it's all about those golden sands and turquoise waters. They've got everything you need for a chill beach day—sun loungers, umbrellas, bars, you name it. Just watch out for the crowds during busy times and be prepared to shell out a few euros for those beach essentials.

Happy Hiking

Fancy a little adventure? Strap on your hiking boots and get ready to conquer Mount Epomeo! It’s the highest peak on the island, and the views from the top are worth every step. As you make your way up Mount Epomeo, one thing to keep an eye out for is the Capri oak, known for its small, dark green leaves and sturdy branches. You might also spot vibrant wildflowers like the Capri broom or the Mediterranean heather, adding a splash of colour to the rocky terrain. But the real showstopper is the fragrant rosemary bushes that dot the mountainside. And don't forget to snap some photos of the breathtaking landscapes along the way—from rugged cliffs to lush greenery, there's no shortage of Instagram-worthy views to capture. Once you reach the summit, be sure to take a moment to soak in the 360-degree views; it's a sight you won't soon forget. And why not strike a victory pose at the top? You've earned it!

Explore The Town

Explore Ischia Ponte, a charming seaside village bursting with history, culture, and Mediterranean flair! Take a leisurely stroll through its narrow cobblestone streets lined with colourful houses and discover charming shops selling local crafts, artisanal souvenirs, and handmade ceramics. Feeling peckish? Indulge in some mouthwatering seafood dishes at one of the quaint trattorias lining the waterfront. Savour freshly caught fish, calamari, or seafood risotto paired with a glass of crisp local wine. Afterwards, swing by the picturesque waterfront promenade, where fishing boats bob gently in the harbour and colourful umbrellas dot the shoreline. Take a moment and admire the views of the sparkling sea and the majestic coastline stretching out before you. For a taste of island life, pop by the local market nearby, where you can sample fresh produce from artisanal cheeses to homemade delicacies. And since you're in Italy, you've got to try a refreshing limoncello or granita while basking in the warm Mediterranean sun.

Echoes Of The Past

The Archaeological Museum of Pithecusae serves as your ultimate remedy for that "ho-hum museum" vibe. Say goodbye to dull museums and hello to a captivating experience where history truly comes alive! Here, you're not just peeking at ancient pottery shards; you're diving headfirst into the daily lives of ancient Greeks and Romans who once inhabited Ischia's shores 2,000 years ago, complete with weapons, tools, and household items. And don't even think about missing Nestor's Cup, a legendary wine cup from the 7th century BC adorned with one of the oldest known examples of ancient Greek writing. It's a glimpse into a world of feasts, celebrations, and epic toasts—truly a piece of history you can hold in your hands!
