Things To Do
A Vitamin D Dream

Let's head to the ultimate chill spot: Induruwa Beach, where the sun, sand, and surf come together for a party you won't want to miss! Nestled along the southern coast of Sri Lanka, this little slice of paradise is all about laid-back vibes and good times. Picture yourself sinking your toes into powdery white sands, with the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean stretching out before you. It's like stepping into a postcard! How about catching some waves? Induruwa is a surfer's paradise, with perfect breaks for everyone from beginners to pros. If surfing's not your thing, no worries! There's plenty more to do. Take a leisurely stroll along the shore, hunt for seashells, or simply kick back with a good book and soak in that tropical sunshine. And let's not forget about the local cuisine! Indulge in some fresh seafood at one of the beachside shacks or treat yourself to a fruity cocktail as the sun sets in fiery hues over the horizon.

Go Whale Watching

Get ready for an adventure that'll have you feeling like you're starring in your own nature documentary! We're talking about heading over to Mirissa, just a hop, skip, and jump from Induruwa, to catch a glimpse of some seriously majestic marine life. Picture this: you're cruising through the glistening waves while your guide is dropping some seriously cool knowledge facts as you scan the horizon for those big beauties—blue whales, dolphins, you name it! The best time to visit is from November to April, when these ocean giants are making their grand entrance on their migration route. So, lather on that sunscreen, grab your camera (and maybe a snack or two), and get ready for a wild ride!

Try The Boat Safari

You've got to do the Madu River Boat Safari and experience the natural beauty of Sri Lanka! Glide along the tranquil waters of the Madu River, surrounded by lush mangrove forests teeming with exotic flora and fauna. Keep your eyes peeled for colourful kingfishers, majestic eagles, and maybe even a crocodile! We recommend heading for an early morning or late afternoon safari for the best chances of spotting wildlife and avoiding the midday heat. After your boat safari, why not explore the nearby attractions? Check out the picturesque Induruwa Beach for some sunbathing and relaxation or visit the Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project to learn about their efforts to protect endangered sea turtles.

Witness Turtle Hatching

If you're passionate about wildlife conservation and want to make a difference, a visit to the Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project is a must! This incredible initiative is dedicated to protecting endangered sea turtles and their nesting sites along the Sri Lankan coast. Take a guided tour of the hatchery and learn about the conservation efforts aimed at ensuring the survival of these magnificent creatures. You might even have the chance to see baby turtles being released into the ocean—a truly heartwarming experience! Consider volunteering or donating to support the ongoing conservation efforts. The fun doesn't stop there! There're tons of cool stuff to check out; head over to Induruwa Beach for some chill time in the sun; or hop on a boat ride along the Madu River to spot some incredible birds and wildlife in the mangrove forests. And if you're into culture, swing by Ambalangoda—it's famous for its traditional mask-making and puppet shows.

Beacon Beauty

Check out the Barberyn Lighthouse. This place is a real hidden gem along the southern coast of Sri Lanka. It's a towering beacon of history and charm, standing tall against the backdrop of the Indian Ocean. Take a stroll around the grounds and soak in the coastal views—you'll definitely want to snap a few selfies. If you're feeling adventurous, you can climb to the top of the lighthouse for some epic panoramic views of the surrounding area. Trust us, it's worth the climb for those sweeping vistas! The fun doesn't stop there. Nearby, you'll find some beautiful beaches where you can kick back, relax, and soak up the sun. Or, if you're a water baby, why not try your hand at some snorkelling or surfing? The waters around Barberyn Lighthouse are teeming with marine life just waiting to be discovered. And if you're feeling peckish after all that exploring, there are plenty of local eateries nearby where you can sample some delicious Sri Lankan staples.
