Experience a slice of Tuscan life! There's no questioning Florence's beauty, but if you want to go out of the city and into the calmer hills, Fiesole Hills is the place to go. You can reach the peak of this hilltop village that has views out over the Florence Valley by hopping on a public bus. From the central square, you can see a Roman theatre, the monastery of San Francesco (with the monks' quarters) and the hiking trails of Monte Ceceri, where Da Vinci conducted his earliest experiments with flying machines.
