With its unique charm and intriguing past, Spinalonga Island is a must-visit
Leave Footprints In The Sand...
Catch some sun rays at the Voulisma beach, which isn’t particularly wide, but unlike many other beaches in Crete, this one has soft sand that is almost white. The shallow, turquoise water is nothing short of spectacular. With its gentle curves and sand that's backed by cliffs, this beach is among the finest on Crete and is a must-visit.
Dive Into Lakeside Dreams!
One can’t help but be allured by the Voulismenis Lake, which draws visitors to this circular lake ringed by steep rocky cliffs on one side and open-air cafes on the other. While visiting this lake, make sure to try some fresh catch, such as lobster or prawns, at one of the many seafood restaurants. As picturesque as it is, we recommend taking a walk at sunset when the cliffs are illuminated, casting a wonderful reflection on the lake.
A Detour Delight!
To get a taste of the Cretan way of life, travel to Kritsa, a picture-perfect village surrounded by olive groves. The main attraction is the high street, with shops neatly lined up next to each other, selling everything from embroidered clothes to ceramics and leather products. We recommend visiting the main square once you are done with your shopping to have a love affair with Cretan cuisine since most of the old-timey cafes are spotted here!
Uncovering The Hidden Wonder...
Explore the Diktean caves, where legend has it that they were the birthplace of the king of gods, Zeus. This damp underground wonderland is a labyrinth of huge stalagmites and stalactites. As you make your way further into the cave, you will discover an impressive lake at the bottom, which is said to be the exact spot where Zeus was born. A visit to these caves should be part of your Lasithi Plateau exploration!
